System Optimization both HW & SW

Hello, I would like to provide a service to my customers. I would like to fully optimize the performance of their sytems. Could I recieve suggestions for optimizing the performance of their systems. This would be both HW & SW running W 95/98. Pointswill be awarded for the most complete list of steps.

First of all, make sure there is no incompatibility between the hardware parts and between the OS and the hardware itself. Make sure that the system is a bit above the customers needs, so he won't feel the need of an upgrade too soon which may have a negative impact on your image.
1. Enable all shadowing (BIOS, Video BIOS, Video RAM) in the CMOS setup; unless the sytem becomes unstable, this often increases overall performance.
2. Set the memory latency timers to the minimum value recomended by the manufacturer.
3. For the K6 systems, enable "write allocation" (if supported by motherboard) in the CMOS setup or load the driver K6-pro.sys provided by htt://
4. For Intel PII systems enable "PII microcodes" (if supported by motherboard)in the CMOS setup
5. Enable block transfers for the HDD in the CMOS setup.
6. If the user has an old ISA card enable memory hole at 15-16 Mb in the CMOS setup
