TechRepublic point system

I was saving my points in case I got in a jam and needed help. Some time ago I could see I had over 5,000 points on TechRepublic - the points for log in, download white papers, answer a question, tec... Can't find anything in the FAQs really related.

Do these points still exist? If so, how can I view them, as they are not available in my profile.

If they do not exist, did they transfer to something else?

Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: TechRepublic point system

by Jacky Howe In reply to TechRepublic point system

They have been replaced with Thumbs. It is up to the person asking the Question to award a Thumb for an acceptable or helpful answer. You don't have to worry about saving points up before asking a Question anymore so just ask away. On the other hand if you are contributing to the questions and provide helpful information, hopefully you will be awarded a Thumb.
Hope it helps

Thumbs up

I am not sure how many points I had under the old system, but I think it was 20,000.

With the new system this equated to 7. As I rarely participate these days, my score remained at 7 for a long time. However I notice it is now up to 8 probably because I have posted answers to a few questions.

Perhaps Jay Garman will stumble across this thread and explain how the new scoring system works.
