Time to move on

By jardinier ·
I think it is time I moved on from this website after learning that I was sharing cyber space with some VERY, VERY sick people.

Management lifted the Ethiopia thread within minutes of my drawning attention to the highly offensive and LIBELLOUS content.

So dawg and all your sicko friends, have a smirk on me. I must rush off now as school is just coming out.

Tig, I appreciate your concerns but.....................

by sleepin'dawg In reply to With all the accusations ...

I'm more concerned about you and watching you get yourself so worked up over so trivial a matter. You have so many other more important things on your plate, that you shouldn't be wasting your energies bothering with the likes of Julian or trying to protect me.

You still have so many things to do before you, things much more important than this garbage. As much as I appreciate your support, I would prefer you maintain your focus on the important tasks you have ahead of you. I realize the hijacking of your TR identity upset you but those of us who have come to know you, were not for an instant taken in by it. This Julian business is just more of the detritus, left behind by the presence of a few mindless imbeciles who endeavour to spoil TR for the majority. They should not be permitted to distract you from the more important aims in your life. You have an important job to do; don't allow the miniscule intellects of the Julians and Stubby_Ms of this world distract you from it.

Hats off to you lady, give it your best shot, I know you're going to succeed; if for no other reason than you have to.

Dawg ]:) B-)

I am beginning to be glad I never tuned in

by j.lupo In reply to NO he did NOT!

to that particular thread, which was pulled. Generally I at least scan most of the threads to see if there is something interesting to participate in. That one didn't even entice me - should I have looked at the beginning?

BTW: this is the first time said they were leaving TR and then they showed up again. If I remember correctly we had two VERY large threads last year about someone leaving and that time OZ was being blamed for it. It was funny to watch and see the responses. This doesn't seem to be as much fun from what I am reading.

that makes two of us...

by heml0ck In reply to I am beginning to be glad ...

I generally enjoy the posts of the people in this thread, but I find most of the flame wars to be.... worthless.
I'm really glad I missed most of the Ethiopia thread....

Ok Lobo

by jdclyde In reply to Time to move on

I understand that you are to the point you feel you must move on.

I just wonder if that is the case, why this discussion? Hoping people will plead with you not to go?

Just don't understand it.

As I strongly believe that each individual must do as he must

by Tig2 In reply to Time to move on

I have no alternative but to wish you well in your next endeavour. May it be fruitful to you and may you revel in whatever glory it brings you.

It seems apparent that we will be able to move on without your input.

Business 101- no one is irreplaceable.

VERY, VERY sick people

by zlitocook In reply to Time to move on

Well that?s the best part of being a Techrepublic member! We all have the same interests and idea's. But that is why the USA is great! Every one can express an opinion and not get (put in jail, shot or just disappear) well in most cases.
And the ladies should always be given the best treatment we can give! Because they can always get back at us at another time.

The "USA" statement - Hurray!
The "ladies" statement - oooooo, cold. True but cold!

Here we go again

by OnTheRopes In reply to Time to move on

It?s time to start watching for TR noobs. Has anyone else noticed that the air is a little fresher so far today? If ?it? stays gone, maybe I can cancel the wire-wheel, sandblast and steam-cleaning appointment I made for myself. I will admit that just posting a reply to one of ?it?s? discussions makes me feel a bit sick. Maybe that?s what ?it? meant by calling us sickos.

"It" could've been the "Jacob Sanderson" tomp12 too. Wouldn't surprise me now.

more fighting??

by Shellbot In reply to Time to move on

I'm saddened that on my first day back from holidays, the first post i read is one like this.

I have no idea what the original posting was, so i'm not going to say anything about it.

Has there been much of this going on ..I thought things were going to cool down for a while?

Oh JD, you did not wish me a Happy Birthday, you are going to have to make that up to me now or else i will be mean to you ]:)

To paraphrase- "A Few Good Men"

by OnTheRopes In reply to more fighting??

It was spread over more than one discussion but here's my synopsis.

Dawg and Others: "You want answers?"

Jardinier: "I think I'm entitled to them."

Dawg and Others: "You want answers?"

Jardinier:"I want the truth!"

Dawg and Others: "You can't handle the truth!!!
Listen up Jardinier, tomp12 or whatever you're calling yourself these days, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You Jardinier? We have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the US and Canada and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that war, while tragic, probably saves lives. And our existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about...

(insert various truths here)

"We use words like honor, code, loyalty... We use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom provided by others, then questions the manner in which it was provided! We'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, we suggest you STFU! Either way, we don't give a damn what you think!"

Jardinier:"Waaa Waaa Waaa"

Me-That's how I remember it.
