I think it is time I moved on from this website after learning that I was sharing cyber space with some VERY, VERY sick people.

Management lifted the Ethiopia thread within minutes of my drawning attention to the highly offensive and LIBELLOUS content.

So dawg and all your sicko friends, have a smirk on me. I must rush off now as school is just coming out.

Just for your information, your thread wasn’t pulled because of any supposed libel or on your account; it was pulled because of the accumulated complaints of the female members of TR, who you had so gratuitously offended.

Here’s a little point for you to take note of;[b][i]it is your stuff that gets pulled on a regular basis and no one elses and if you can’t see and understand that you really are a sick, sad, pathetic and delusional, creature.[/i][/b]

You’ve been libelled here??? I’m conceited enough to think you must mean by me. Good! I’m glad you feel like that. That was my intent. Now I suggest you look up the definition of libel and it may surprise you to find out that any honus of proof regarding libel is upon you, not me and you would be putting yourself in the indefensible position of bringing suit against me for my opinions and like it or not, opinions are not libelous offenses.

Don’t forget my opinions and those of others are all based upon what you yourself have stated here. You were told you were being offensive and you chose to ignore our sensibilities and continue to offend. The fact that so many have reacted adversely should have at the very least given you pause to reconsider. doubt question it and you will note I kept all the context of my questions in the form of my opinions. I know how to skate around those minor details. I know what constitutes libel and I think, like most of his ideas, he dreams in technicolor. After all he was/is a friend of Oz.

Now all that remains is for me to try and figure out what Oz’s last rant at me was all about. I thought we had agreed to disagree and had called a truce on our flame war. Some how he is under the misconception that [b]sleepin’dawg[/b] and [b]Dawg[/b] are two different people. Am I supposed to defend me against myself? It remains without doubt, one of Oz’s more abstract and interesting ideas, so far.

I have always been amused by those who castigate and endeavour to pillory the US isn the courts of world opinion. What usually stops most of them cold, is when I ask them to consider the alternatives. Would they have preferred being a captive ally nation of the former Soviet Union??? Maybe they would like to become cozy with the Peoples Republic of China??? Most of these pissant nations such as Austrakia for one, are jealois of the US and the sway it exercises in world affairs while nobody pays serious attention totheir bleatings. Take note that Australia is not even considered to be a worthy candidate for the G8.

I like Americans and the US but I have no intention of becoming an American citizen. As I said, I’m proid to be Canadian and that does not necessitate my hating the US. I am of the opinion that those who claim they do so, will be the first to cry for help from the US whenever their piddly little countries are thereatened by any disaster, either natural or political, Add to that that most people, Americans and Canadians included, have little or no knowledge of international affairs or current events.

In short, Dawg asked a question.

In order to be considered libel, an accusation would have been required, or a statement of fact not inclusive to the initial statement to include additional facts not readily apparent. Therefore “you are a …” or “I have seen you on this day at this time supported by these evidences…” These points might then be examined by a legal entity for veracity and inclusion.

Julian’s response to Dawg was a couple of days- by my clock CDT- later and he had posted in the interim. Why then, after a number of women had complained, was it pulled? I suggest that “libel” had nothing to do with it.

Julian may have painted himself with a brush that he is not happy about now. That was a choice he made. Attacking us is not going to change the fact that he made the initial distasteful post.

I’m more concerned about you and watching you get yourself so worked up over so trivial a matter. You have so many other more important things on your plate, that you shouldn’t be wasting your energies bothering with the likes of Julian or trying to protect me.

You still have so many things to do before you, things much more important than this garbage. As much as I appreciate your support, I would prefer you maintain your focus on the important tasks you have ahead of you. I realize the hijacking of your TR identity upset you but those of us who have come to know you, were not for an instant taken in by it. This Julian business is just more of the detritus, left behind by the presence of a few mindless imbeciles who endeavour to spoil TR for the majority. They should not be permitted to distract you from the more important aims in your life. You have an important job to do; don’t allow the miniscule intellects of the Julians and Stubby_Ms of this world distract you from it.

to that particular thread, which was pulled. Generally I at least scan most of the threads to see if there is something interesting to participate in. That one didn’t even entice me – should I have looked at the beginning?

BTW: this is the first time said they were leaving TR and then they showed up again. If I remember correctly we had two VERY large threads last year about someone leaving and that time OZ was being blamed for it. 😉 It was funny to watch and see the responses. This doesn’t seem to be as much fun from what I am reading.

Well that?s the best part of being a Techrepublic member! We all have the same interests and idea’s. But that is why the USA is great! Every one can express an opinion and not get (put in jail, shot or just disappear) well in most cases.
And the ladies should always be given the best treatment we can give! Because they can always get back at us at another time.

It?s time to start watching for TR noobs. Has anyone else noticed that the air is a little fresher so far today? ah normally i don’t go into TR till closer to lunch, but i just can’t face work this morning. i call it the “returned from holidays and don’t give a carp” syndrome.

I have a very vivid memory of the last time I was in the UK their I was dragged to Brighton Beach shivering in a Great Coat and all the other warm things that I could find while these [b]Mad Poms[/b] where swimming in water with Ice still floating in it and complaining about how Hot it was. B-)

Other than the total lack of heat & Black Ice I loved the UK and I’m hoping to get there next year to visit the Isle of Man once again at the [b]Right time of the Year[/b] but first I’ll have to organise a Motorcycle for myself to ride during the days as that [b]Black Ice[/b] is a killer and it forms anytime there is no sun during your summer. During winter it’s not even safe to walk anywhere sober at least when you’re drunk legless up have an excuse for allowing the Black Ice to sit you on your rear end quite quickly. I now understand why all the designer shows in the UK have [b]Running Spikes[/b] on them. :p

The coolest thing happened for my Birthday!

In Spain, June 23 is a holiday of sorts and they let off fireworks the whole night. So the whole evening was amazing as everyone was down at the beach setting them off..plus a lot of hotels and the neighboring towns as well. It was fantastic and went from dark till about 2 am.

I have a TiggerTwo2, I think that NeverBusted has one, JD has one and now you. I think that the answer is to just let the personality die out- if it doesn’t get used, it may just go away.

I should think that TR will notice that there are a number of “alter-egos” about and may choose to kill them in a sane and merciful manner after notifying us that execution is planned. Or not- TR has quite enough problems just now…

You and I know how important felines are. I personally live with three cats- wouldn’t try to keep house without a cat. They reduce stress and keep your blood pressure in line.

Both cats and dogs are know for there Parrot like qualities, just ask mine if you need proof. I had a friend who’s cat always curled around his neck and stayed there regardless of what my friend was doing.

I grew up a dog lover. I have also had my share of cats (about 15, with 12 dogs). Grew up with the house full of different animals because they are all so great in their own way. Rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbals, mice, dogs, cats, hermit crabs, fish, etc. They all were great and yes I have had them all under one roof at one time. Lots and lots of them.

Cats and dogs are the best to me. Our last great dane was raised by my cat who was raised by a previous great dane. So that cat thought he was a great dane, the great dane though she was a cat. They slept curled up together and I was afraid that if Bandit (the great dane) took a deep breath then Eboneezer (the cat) would be inhaled.

What was fun to watch was the two of them raising my first pug. They were just like parents to the guy and he didn’t know what he was after that.

Well they are not that interesting, but they were easy to care for and clean up after. As they grow they shed their shells so you have to give them a bigger one when it is time. I once watched one of them change shells. It was interesting.

They aren’t much in the way of interaction that you would have with other pets (especially cats and dogs) but they are good for learning about pets with.

I have always loved animals and enjoyed learning about them. I didn’t live in an area for horses or farm type animals – unfortunately. I always wanted to learn more, but I won’t support the places around where I am now. They are the pits. I turned a few in. There is no excuse for poor conditions for the animals.

Frankly I prefer dogs but I’ve had my share of cats too. One was called Alfie, from the movie of that name, another was called Chairman Meow. There were others but those two stick out for being total nuts. The Chairman was a Siamese who thought he was a dog, Alfie was a stray that was positive he was a dog. Both sired many litters of cats throughout the neighbourhood.

All my cats got along with my dogs and the dogs liked my cats but were deadly to strange cats, that might come around.

whatever are you doing living amongst all those bog trotters??? Lovely people but they do seem to insist upon fisticuffs at all there social events whether baptisms, marriages or funerals.

They get hatched, matched and dispatched, always in the presence of a fight or three. There is seldom any rancor and the participants are often the best of friends the next day. It’s not often you find yourself being threatened with a thrashing, while having Joyce quoted to you.
