Trying to make Space on my Hard Drive

By jimrossy ·
I am trying to clean out my hard drive. I have a lot of files on my hard drive that I have not used in a long time. I need to weed out the files that I do not use regularly anymore and move them to my external hard drive.

What is the fastest way that I can find the largest files so I can move them to my external hard drive so I can make more room on the hard drive on my laptop?

Thank You!

What OS?

My favorite tip is that Windows XP 'Media Center Edition' contains about TWO GIGS of sample video files.

Finding LARGE files

I like freeware: sequoiaview.com, you can download it at Cnet pre-screened for spyware etc. Beauty is that on a single screen it gives you a clear picture of where all your big offenders are, and the names are right there too as you mouse over the offender.

I believe it shows you the systems hidden files too even if you have not "unhid" them in the file system.
