Uninstall AOL

I've had a lot of expierience with uninstalling aol and have found that all versions can be removed just fine from add/remove programs. ( In fact I would say that the unistall is the best part of the program ) As far as related problems with other isp's, this can be remedied by going into the network control panel and reinstalling all protocols. The Aol software uses it's own tcp/ip stack and dial up adapter which can interfere with other connections. (unfortunately windows seems to prefer these over the microsoft standards ) This should cear pretty much everything out of the system that needs to be removed. Make sure that the aol tray icon is removed from startup and that you remove the folder from the programs directory. Other than that the excess registry entries don't do any harm.

I too have had much experience trying to remove programs. On a proprietary machine (OEM) you may be better off trying format and reinstall (removing AOL may detract from to OEM operating system [no sound, video problems, etc...,]). Deleting the files leaves a registery entry and causes blue screen errors.
