Unix Security "cd /" permission problem

By mippps ·
I am using SCO unix. We are testing modem dial-up from a xpWin PC using Kermit. We only need to send two files on a daily basis. The system works fine passing the files from the unix box to the PC. The problem is we sign on with a User and at the shell prompt the "cd" change directories command is abled. The user can cd / and see the root files. I have changed permissions in user | group | world without success. Is there a way to filter the "cd" from the command set of the Bourne Shell at the prompt ">"?

I'm a little rusty on this, but check out the man page for the restricted shell "rsh". Perhaps the account you set up to connect to should have only the restricted shell. You could set it up so the UNIX box would only accept a connection from the machine you name, etc.

Sorry I don't have more detailed info for you.
