US Soldier Murders Injured and Unarmed

By Bucky Kaufman (MCSD) ·
Did y'all see the video of that US soldier murdering an unarmed, injured freedom fighter?

Knowing that he was most likely NOT al Quaeda, and knowing that he definitely didn't have any nuclear missiles - can ya really keep supporting the US war against the people of Iraq?

I mean, it's just not right to have US kids getting their minds so shattered, and their morality so compromised that they're murdering unarmed, injured people.

What did he do to deserve being shot? According to the soldier who shot him, his crime was "playing dead".

What choice do we leave these people, if playing dead is a capital crime, but to become suicide bombers, and to band together with Americas enemies like al Quaeda?

Is this really the way to spread Democracy - American style?

I hope you find a lot of nice friends out there.

Speaking out against Bush's state sponsorship of terrorism is not "defending terrorists".

Insurgents

by TheChas In reply to US Soldier Murders Injure ...

With the style and type of combat that the Muslim Extremists have been practicing, I find it difficult to blame the soldier until we have all of the facts.

From what I heard on NPR and BBC today, after the first group of Marines had cleared the building, snipper fire continued to come from that specific mosque.

As i see it at this point in time, the soldier was just using his best judgment to protect himself and the unit.

Like it or not, (and I don't) the US started this war, and we need to stay in Iraq until the Iraqi government is ready to defend itself.

Clearing the extremists out of Iraq is part and parcel to having fair and free elections in January.

He was injured and unarmed. What more do you need to know - his faith?

From an injured, unarmed man - slumped against the wall, groaning in pain?

The soldier was, unquestonably, using poor judgement - as are those who defend him.

What if the body was booby trapped? What if that insurgent was faking it?

Were you there? I hope you get drafted and be forced to go. I bet you are the asshole that protested the Vietnam war and all wars by calling soldiers (who are under direct orders whether they agree with the political administration or not) baby killers aren't you? And I bet you think you are noble at the same time?

No, but I saw it on TV. You should watch the video before you defend the murderer.

It's not like it's a unique situation. LOTS of US soldiers have been charged with murder, torture, rape and other Crimes against Humanity.

I WAS there

by trockii In reply to Injured and Unarmed

I just fulfilled my enlistment in the Air Force. I was deployed from Nov 2003- March 2004 to Qatar. While I wasn't on the front lines, everyone that was going to or coming from went through my base. I heard stories about everything going on over there. The news does it's best to get ratings. It doesn't report ALL the facts. As for this story about the marine shooting an "unarmed" civilian. That's all the news reports. How would the story change if this "civilian" was playing dead with a RPG laying next to him and that marine passed by then the "civilian" jumped up and fired upon him? Would everyone still making a big deal about the Marine shooting him? I think not. Until you know ALL the details, which including myself don't know we can't make judgements on him. If I was in his same situation I couldn't tell you right that second what I would have done at that very second. Do you know what it takes to shoot and kill someone? It might not seem like a big deal, but I KNOW from talking to friends that HAVE killed, that it reeks havic on their minds and souls. They are doing what they HAVE to do to survive. They are not just shooting innocent bystanders like the news reports. If that was the case alot more people would be dieing. I am still in the Air Force Reserves and my unit is talking about deploying in March 05. I don't like the idea of going into war, but put in the situation I will kill to live. That's the same decision that Marine had to make and live with for the rest of his life. Hopefully I can go there and remain safe and make it back home without having to face the decision to kill or not to kill.

May GOD bless and be with all MY brothers and sisters over there. Come back home soon.

Actually, many Iraqis have died when US soldiers have fired into crowds of civillian. It's been confirmed by their commanders.

Once you choose to go to war, you've chosen to kill. To think otherwise is just insane.

Because according to you anyone who disagrees with you is a stupid, hate-filled, mindless, NEO-CON, militant Christian, 100,000 dead people lovin?, fool who should be thrown in jail with the rest of the extremists. You?re the only rational one right Bucky?

I don't choose to go to war. I choose to serve MY country. If I am ordered to war I go, by no means is it choice to leave my family and friends.
