User Broke Internet Explorer
LockedRunning Win2k SP4.
I have run adaware, hijackthis, avg antivirus, S&D, all in “safe mode” and normal mode. Found a bit and removed it all.
I have network connectivity and can ping to my hearts content.
If I launch FF, I can browse anything, very quickly might I add.
If I launch IE, in about 10 minutes the home page will load (currently http://www.yahoo.com). If I click on anything it just sits there looking stupid until I go into Task Manager and kill the application.
If I launch Control Pannel or Search, I get the same results. (no, I don’t want to format and reload).
I downloaded and “reinstalled and replaced” IE6 and rebooted.
Memory useage is only about 130M out of 512, and with the IE/control pannel/search frozen, CPU useage is sitting at 0%.
If wasn’t for the user needing windows updating, I would just tell them to use FF anyways, but can’t give this back like this.
The last time IE worked was after doing an update and reboot, but I can’t get into control pannel to uninstall any updates.
I am booting to “last known good config” as I type (just remembered about that feature) but is hasn’t made any difference.
Any ideas short of a reload?
