Using Belkin's Wireless F5D7231-4P Print Server on a Mac

By tmaggio ·
Hopefully, I'm not crazy and someone else is having or
has had this
problem. According to Belkin Tech/Manuals, in order to
use the
printer server feature of their router one must run the
infamous Print
Server Wizard. That's swell, except it is a Windows only
My Mac "sees" the printer connected to the router and will
give me a "Printing" message, but alas, nothing comes out
of the
printer. Printer works great as a hub or directly connected
USB device. Belkin support says I need to install the
"Wizard" to tell the
computer what port to use. See above for Catch-22. I
wouldn't mind
so much if Belkin just came out and admitted their router
is not Mac
compatible in the print server feature (never mind the Mac
OS icon on
the box), but so far I've been through several different
levels of their
tech support and all they can do is put me on hold while
they do what I
don't know, and then tell me I need to contact my printer
manufacturers. Please. Anyway, I don't know where else to
turn to, so
if you have any suggestions, please post. Thanks,
