UTP vs STP cabling

By scalpel ·
Could somebody enlighten me whether there is any advantages of running STP instead of UTP cables? Does the shielding allow me to run the cables closer to power cables? And what about interference from telephone cables - does it affect UTP cables?
I'm just new at this and planning to run network cables to everyroom in my new house under construction. I've never done anything like this before.
Thanks in advance for any advice received.

That's been my model. I have always used UTP indoors. Wired close to 30 sites never had a problem. However if the cable was run outdoors that is when I used STP.

As suguested by other post I keep away from power, fluorescent lights, etc.

stp(sheilded twisted pair) allows u avoid fire of the cable however it can help with interference..also try not to put a utp or stp near a power cable .. however power cable can be installed with a tp but if it has a specific dimensions it should be 2inch and a half as a minimum..so try to attach the power cable enternally and put a tube for the utp also telephony cable doesn't make any interference with a utp cable ..
