I have put a new hard drive in a friends acer 5310 laptop, she had vista basic and unfortunatley had not made a backup disc, I had a friend make a vista reboot disc and reinstalled vista, now laptop needs registration key, the original does not work, can you help please

You may have to speak to someone in Pakistan by telephone, or wherever they do it now, and sweet-talk them, as I had to do on more than one occasion, reinstalling my retail XP on different systems.

For Laptop registration, If its under warranty, U can get it from ACER service centre easily...

XP install with USB Flash Drive

u can install xp from ur thumb dive.
Or u have internet connection u open window in safe mode with network connection . And try to install xp.
