Some of us put it there to stop people like you from getting to things that they shouldn’t whilst at work/school/college/uni.
Some of us spend an awful lot of time trying to keep people like you from breaking the law, breaking policies and procedures, and, no idea why, from stopping people like you from being offended by what it out there on the net, in whatever shape or form.
If you have a legitimate need to get onto a website which is within a websense restricted container, then see your IT Security admin, user desk or line manager to arrange for the site to be added to the allowed list.
If you’re up to no good, don’t bother, and do whatever you want to from home…..
GG
Dang, these people wind me up at times.
Removes soapbox……

determine where the filter is, walk around it! See, easy!
Other options — dont get around it, as it was put there for a reason
or
tie the hard drive of your computer onto the top of your head. Get on a bicycle or motorcycle, and traverse as fast as you can, aim for a big tree — head first hit the tree.
You will not be harmed from this as the Hard Drive will cushion the impact. The controller board and solder joints ‘absorb’ impact damage between 28 MPH and 75 MPH very well. I think the study that I read stated 98.2 to 99.6% of impact damage was absorbed.
Anyway, after the shock given, the Hard Drive will perform whatever tasks that you want to, because it didnt like the impact and does not want you to do it again.-

People like this have no sense at all, I think some of them are born without a brain cell in site.

Well, i do believe that everyone on earth has a different mental capacity of that of another. Just because you can hack through Websense or any other security blocker and other ppl cannot does not mean they have no brain cells present.

What indicates that someone has zero brain cells is to come onto a board for/of/by tech professionals, and expect to get assistance in circumventing the type of protection controls many of us work hard to implement.
If he went onto Police Republic, and asked how to get around speed traps, I’m pretty sure they’d frown upon that equally, if not more so.
Simply put, the original poster was a fool. First to get his/her money wins!

The majority of TR members are IT professionals, people who get paid to enforce security. We don’t tolerate those stumble in here and expect us to help them circumvent the work someone else is doing.

Fina a PC that does not use the filter, say at home for example. Then use such a PC.
Hint – PC’s that have the filter where you are have a small red and green dot under them, look out for that!

NotSoChiGuy has inspired me. Let’s make today “Talk like Elmer Fudd Day”. Maybe we can get something going like the founders of Talk Like a Pirate Day Did.

Elmer Fudd
by gsg · about 14 years, 5 months ago
In reply to “NotSoChiGuy has inspired me”
You were “talking” like Elmer Fudd. Things are crazy here and we’re incredibly short staffed, so I’m about 10 degrees left of center today and thought, if we all talked like Elmer Fudd, it would relieve stress. “Tank you fow cawing the Hewp Desk. May I hewp you? HehHehHehHeh” “You fowgot you passwood? It’s wabbitseason!”
To add to that, I’ve been sneezing and have a head full of snot, and I think that the hand sanitizer that I’ve been rubbing down with whenever I come back to my office (we’re by the ER, so have to walk through the gauntlet of germs) has seeped through my skin and contains a mind control substance.
If anything else happens around here, I’m in serious danger of making a foil hat, ripping off my clothes, going out the back door and doing a free form dance in the ambulance bay in a futile attempt to keep the aliens from taking over.
It won’t be pretty.

Cover your entire screen with Post-It notes. Once the screen is entirely covered, Websense can’t see what you’re doing so you can just surf away to your heart’s content.
When you’re done surfing, remove the Post-It notes and no one will be able to see what you were doing that was against company policy.

…games are blocked by a PC policy. It would have seemed like I hacked the system. My boss would have probably called the local FBI office, and I would be looking at 5-10 for a computer crime.
As is, all I got was a “I need to report a use violation to HR. But before I do, can I get the link to that site?”

Games here, have been removed from the images for 2 years now. I havent seen a policy against them, so I copied them from an older XP system, and add them (upon request) to XP and Vista (works fine in both). 😀

The VP in charge of this facility had me start removing them back in Windows 95. I left them on laptops for a while, telling myself people could use them in airports, hotels, etc. Now with so many free on-line games available, I take them off laptops too. On request I’ll provide bookmarks to Popcap and GameHouse. Don’t let me catch you loading them (or anything else); that’s a policy violation.

DOOM(tm) method…
Load a copy of Doom (original only plz) to youre computer. In the program folder, there is a resource folder. Search for BFG.dll (it exists in the unix port as well if thats all you have.) Copy this file to your desktop, and open it with IE6 or IE7. IE* will not work. Then, just blast your way through the filter like John Wayne at an all-you-can-kill buffet.
