      Name suffix routing is used because IP network addresses assigned by DHCP can change every time you connect to the server. The computer and network name of each computer is static (doesn’t change) and by keeping a table of the computer name and IP address, the network traffic can be routed to the proper PC no matter which IP address is assigned to the PC.

        When you create a forest trust between two forests, name suffix routing is used to route authentication requests to the correct forest. For example, if a user with an account in forest A logged on to a computer in forest B, the authentication request would be routed to the correct forest. In this case, the user’s account is from forest A so the authentication request is sent to forest A.
