What wiped out the dinosaurs?

By cp7212 ·
Maxwell has me going now. Something obviously just sum-totalled the dinosaurs. There are many hypotheses. Many people say theories, but theories have to be proven. I don't really have an idea, but I'd like to kick it around to see what everyone else thinks.

Or for that matter, were the dinosaurs wiped out on a global scale? Is it possible for something to happen globally? It seems from some posts, people don't think so. Could the Earth have been made uninhabitable for the larger animals? Remember, nature is a mother......

Saurian-Americans

by Montgomery Gator In reply to My thoughts

I am glad someone is standing up for the Saurian-Americans, the name that Dinosaurs now prefer for themselves.

I'm a Neo-Saurist

by DMambo In reply to Saurian-Americans

I believe that the birds should be allowed - no, required - to evolve back into dinosaurs. There's no telling how much the environent has been damaged over the past 65 million years due to the pollution caused by birds, especially on my car just after having it washed.

On the other hand, I doubt my windshield wipers would have much of a chance against a Pterodon turd.

Actually ...

by stress junkie In reply to Hey, it's a freaking joke ...

... the only serious posts were a side discussion between myself, Maxwell, and puppybreath. I'm quite proud of the fact that we all remained civilized and rational. It was a beautiful thing. I get a lump in my throat when I think about all that we accomplished. There may be hope for Humanity after all.

See what happens here on the weekends? We are more inclined to act like an intelligent species. Humorless perhaps, at least in my case, but intelligent.

On side discussions

I don't think I've ever seen any discussion that didn't get side-tracked in some way. At least not one with a dozen or more replies.

that's the beauty

of these discussions... when you need a diversion from your day, it is quite relaxing to see the back nad forth jesting displayed...

I hope you don't think I took it too seriously

by maxwell edison In reply to Hey, it's a freaking joke ...

I hope you don't think that I was one of the people who you think took it too seriously.

Of course I realized it was a "freaking joke ..... on a silly topic".

That's why my reply was also a freaking joke ..... presented in a silly way.

No blood, no foul

I realized your original posting was a joke, but it sure looked like the follow-up sidebar was being taken seriously by all participants. I apologize to all if I read something in that wasn't there.

apology not necessary

by maxwell edison In reply to No blood, no foul

And you are correct, the sidebar was more serious. I wonder, however, why stress junkie insisted on attacking me for what was obviously a joke? I guess I must have hit a nerve. Oh well, there's an element of truth to all good humor, so it must have illustrated his reality pretty well.

And oftentimes, you'll even see a serious discussion with a sidebar that's filled with jokes, both good ones and otherwise.

for Pete's sake

Maxwell's post was humorous.

I hijacked that into a serious discussion.

We managed to discuss a few ideas. I have some new information to consider.

End of story.

It was not Haliburton

by Montgomery Gator In reply to It was a vast right-wing ...

Not this time. It was Sinclair that did it. Ever notice that their logo was a dinosaur (a brontosaurus)? (Unless Sinclair was bought out by Haliburton, then it could still be their fault.)
