Where do I get drivers for USB flash drives to reinstall?

When I connect any flash drive my Thinkpad T30 does not recognize then and askes me to install a driver. I don’t have any. Any ideas? I have a recovery set of CDs, but do not have a specific XP set.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Flash drives don’t need specific drivers in XP, 2000, or Vista. You only need drivers for 98 or ME. You may have an issue with your flash drive. Also, you might check the website for your flash drive manufacturer and check out any troubleshooting steps they may have.

I guess whatever XP uses is corrupted

I am guessing that somewhere along the line, whatever XP uses to recognize these flash drives has been corrupted. It worked fine up unitl about a month ago then just stopped. I am trying to figure out what I need to replace/reinstall to overwrite the drivers in XP that are not working today.

I suppose it is a driver because when I plug in the flash drive it automatically tries to reload drivers.

It is the same situation with all flash drive manufacturer products…I have tried 4 different brands and none of them work.
