Where's the simplicity in Web services?

In the debate about whether the number of XML-based specifications has mushroomed out of control, some people advocate the use of REST, which is suited for relatively simple applications.

Will you invest in emerging Web services software? Do you think Web services are getting out of hand?

Whatever happened to ....

Text Mode... Many websites need nothing any more complicated - and now Longhorn announces that we'll need Directx 9 (Animation Standards) or better just to run the OS !!

Text mode is remarkably fast and secure (of course not well suited to the fancy pop-ups, but who's requirement was THAT ?!).

As if a bloated OS wasn't bad enough...
