Windows reboot problems..

By Rage ·
Whenever I reboot from within Windows (either manually, or from a prompt, such as a settings change), the machine does the memory check, and the A: drive powers up..after that, it just hangs. It will not recognize either of the 2 hard drives I have.If I power down completely, or if I simply restart Windows, it works fine. I've tried reassigning the drives through the BIOS, and reformatting the MBR...no success.

Check for any bad files using Scan Disk and also if possible for any virus. If none is found try changing the boot sequence from the BIOS or disabling the drive from the BIOS. That should solve the problem.

When newly installed software wants to reboot to complete the installation process the same thing occurs doesn't it? Microsoft has a patch for this problem in WIN98. If you would like me to email it to you just drop me a line.
