Windows Vista - Juno Internet

By philcollier ·
I just helped a friend setup a new Dell desktop with Windows Vista. He is using Juno as his ISP. Juno installed properly and he is able to connect to his email account and all functions work (i.e. send and receive). The problem is when he tries to connect to the internet. It gives us an error that says he must have admin rights. This desktop is not connected to a network and he doesn't use wireless. My searching has not come up with the answer I'm looking for to fix this problem and it is probably pretty simple. Anybody know how I fix this? Thanks in advance, Phil Collier.

Vista and Juno5

by Dee101 In reply to Windows Vista - Juno Inte ...

There is a triedit.dll MS doesn't include in Vista that Juno 5 relies on for its "web" access. The version 5.49 is supposed to work (according to Juno support) but, backup your old version. Uninstall 5.0 if that is installed. Do a clean install of 5.49. Import your backup info. I;m having only mixed luck with this, but its worth a try.
