Windows XP Activation Key

I had XP Pro installed on my computer, and recently it has not accepted updates and would not download certain applications. And when I tried to run updates it stated that the Product Key was blocked for some reason.

I used an XP key from another PC that I use and it activated it with no problem, my questions is will that cause a conflict with the computers, and if so what can I do to reverse this use of a Product Key on two computers.

If you have a valid key

That is not being used and the same type of installation i.e. Retail and spare retail key; you may use a utility like Magic Jellybean to change the key.

I've swapped out MB's, video cards, processors - you name it, I've replaced it. Now I'm just really curious why the OS has never prompted me to reactivate! Never even hiccupped, just went right on. I must've had a guardian angel on my shoulder all these years!

and P.S. Never used a Key Generator program either, although I know they're out there!

depends if your using OEM, Retail , Volume Licensing etc not all ask for it to be reactivated. If for example you replace a motherboard on various different laptops, a si have done in previous jobs, windows asks to be reactivated, this is because the new motherboard has a different DMI / Setup etc
