Wireless question

By shaunsweb ·
I have a router(Linksys WRK54G) connected to 2 PCs, XBox, PS2 and a wireless laptop.

I want to add 3 more computers that are in a room on the other side of the house. These 3 computers do not currently have an internet connection. Running cable is not really an option since their is no real crawl space above or below the house and the 3 computers are currently networked together with a switch.

If I bought another wireless router to hook the other computers up to share printers, files and the internet, would this work?

How would I setup the second router? I assume I would turn off DHCP on the second router, use the same SSID and Passkey.

Thanks in advance for all the help you can provide.

Adding another Router

Adding another router to the other 3 computer will be like you have created another account/gateway in your network. And to me this is a LAN.

So are you saying it would work?

I'm still a bit confused would that work? Or would it not?

Sorry I am new to this. Would a wireless bridge be a better option? They seem to be hard to find at any stores around me and they cost more than the wireless routers.

Or would an access point work for this application? I was under the impression that access points were for adding larger wireless range and not to bridge networks.
