Word/Excel 97 Exit Questions

By jack.trachtman ·
When I exit from Word or Excel 97, after changing a document, I see the
usual "Do you want to save your changes?" dialog. But the option
buttons, instead of saying "Yes", "No", and "Cancel" are labeled
"Cancel", "Yes", "Ok". I've discovered (painfully) that they still work as
Yes, No, and Cancel. (I believe that some other dialogs are also
incorrectly labeled.)

Can anyone tell me how to get the correct button labels? (I've tried
reinstalling, and searching Microsoft's Knowledgebase.)

Update your virus definitions and scan and repair.

Download "Powertoys", also called "TweakUI", from Microsoft or a reputable file repository. After installing it, run it from the Control Panel. Go to the "Repair" tab and repair each of the options.
