Workstation joining a domain

By michaelh ·
I'm trying to add a workstation to our local domain, however everytime I try to add it i get the following error.

"Your computer could not be joined ot the domain because the following error has occurred:
The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials."

I've double checked the computer name, user account and domain and nothing that I can see is conflicting.

I've also checked on the Microsoft Knowledge Base with no luck, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

Workstation joining a domain

Login as your local Administrator computer, don't use others.

Then try register your computer through the network icon in the control panel. You should have the account of Domain Administrator Password to do this not others !.

If you have donethis before and still problem, try to reinstall you network service & protocol (unsintall first), network adapter also. Don't forget to reinstall your service pack 6 or later.

Hope it can help.
