Would you answer this for 2 points?

By robbinsr ·
Can someone please inform me of why their are a majority of users who feel the need to be stingy on the points. I hold on to my points in order to tempt a person into taking on my situation and possibly solving it, but when you see a question with 0 - 20 points offered. Thats a joke. You get points for answering polls. Can you answer a couple polls to knock your points up to at least 25? Personally I feel thats still an insult, but its better than 1 point.

{syscokid} - Thats the situation I am looking at. What bothers me is 0 points. I would answer for a point or two if it was simple. Such as Anna stated if the question was... What does CPU stand for. Thats worth a couple points, but to ask: Howdo you reset the admin password on a Windows NT workstation and offer no points.... Thats just lame.

Last thing I recall... Two individuals who have posted in here received 500 points a piece from my last question.

I have an even better question:

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP ASKING THE SAME IGNORANT QUESTION A MILLION TIMES A WEEK?????

At least 3 times a week for the past month someone is posting this stupid question. I have kept out of it, and laughed as the samepeople post the same comments. It looks to me like the people posting and replying care more about points then anyone. If you think the points are not a fair amount, then dont answer the question and move onto the next. What a waste of space, do a search in the discussions and you well find more then enough of this same subject.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried Piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieteddown. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer'sneighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off! Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds ofdirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

I cannot envision what one may be thinking when they post a question for 0-5 points, yet I feel more compelled to help and not worry about it,it all comes back to you, either in learning or expierence.
Take the person who once posted a question for two points.Got five answers and was automatically closed by Tech Republic and you never knew if the solution helped or not.
You never know one motives or reasoning for this behavior and I try not to judge one yet it hurts others who may not have the points to reward for the question they are posting and you think of the past expierence, this is where comments would be helpful and you would not mind helping out.
