Writing batch files

By TheProfessorDan ·
I really want to get better at writing batch files and would like to create a menu like batch file to perform some of the routine tasks that we do here at work. Can anyone suggest a good book or a source online that will help me improve my batch file writing skills?

If you're working in a Windows environment,

be sure to download PowerShell, MS's free super-upgrade to Windows existing command line capabilities.

If you're a Windows System Admin, PowerShell is going to be the only option to properly manage all of the MS stuff. This started with Exchange 2007 where the Management Consoles sits on top of PS and there is a load of stuff that you can only do with PS.
