XP Install failure. Answer not found.

By saber0091 ·
I have a problem with installing Windows Xp Professional. It is not a hardware problem, or a BIOS problem. I have tried replacing every single bit of hardware and even using the disc in another system altogether and am still getting this error. Ihave installed Windows XP Professional using this disc before, and the disc is undamaged. This is the error: The compuer boots and gets past POST (Every computer tried in), then it tries to boot from the Xp Pro cd, on screen is displayed 'Setup isinspecting the configuration' then it says 'NTDETECT failed' and promptly reboots the computer. The common denominator is that there is only one harddrive installed when I am doing this and it's partitioned in half, with the half designated for XP formatted in NTFS. I am thinking that reformatting the partitioned space to FAT32 might solve it. Anyone with any ideas?
