I oridinally had xp pro on my machine. I wiped my drives due to an error with my dual boot. I am trying to install windows XP PRO from a blank hard drive. Everything goes fine up untill till tells me It needs to reboot. The computer reboots and I get an error CD101… Then after that no operating system found.

I recommend to boot off the cd, or floppy disks, blow away all partitions, and install from scratch, to see if the error is consistent.

This is most likely a RAM issue.

For each action or step you take, you need to install Windows from scratch. If you do not see the error any more, you are done. If you see the error again, you go to the next step.

1). Make sure your hard driveis error free (i.e. no bad sectors or clusters) and blank.

      2). Reseat RAM(s) firmly.

3). If you have only one RAM, replace it with a known good RAM.

4). If you have more than one RAM, you need to isolate which one (or more) is bad. The easiest procedure is to take all of them out and put one at a time until the error is gone.

5). If you still have the error, you need to test CPU and M/B. Unless you have any spare known good replacement, you better take your computer to a dependabletechnician for troubleshoot.
