Question

Do you prefer mobile apps or web apps?

By freya2 ·
If a company had a web app as opposed to a downloadable app, would this put you off from using it?

Do you have any pros / cons to web app ?

Would love to hear any thoughts!

Yes.

Sadly you were not specific as to what app. For some it's best as a native app, and for a lot of other things a web app is fine. So the answer is yes.

Since generally I prefer working on a PC/laptop above working on a phone/tablet, I prefer a web app above a mobile app.

Web Apps Pros and Cons

by sparity In reply to Do you prefer mobile apps ...

Here are the Pros and Cons of Web apps :
Pros:
1. Do not need to be downloaded or installed - web apps function in-browser
2. Do not require app store approval, so can be launched quickly
3. Easy to maintain - They have a common codebase regardless of a mobile platform.
4. Quicker and easier to build than mobile apps
5. Will update themselves

Cons:
1. Do not work offline
2. May not be as discoverable as mobile apps as they are not listed in a specific database, such as the app store
3. Quality and security is not always guaranteed - web apps don’t need to be approved by the app store
4. Slower than mobile apps, and less advanced in terms of features

Mobile apps do well in the mobile devices like Galaxy M32 5G that I have been using and web apps are for laptops and desktops.

When deciding type of app, it’s important to keep your users top of mind.

by jakeclarke1985 In reply to Do you prefer mobile apps ...

Web apps need an active internet connection in order to run, whereas mobile apps may work offline. Mobile apps have the advantage of being faster and more efficient, but they do require the user to regularly download updates. Web apps will update themselves.

There are many factors to consider when deciding which type of app is best for your business. Whether you choose to build a web app, native app or hybrid app, it’s important to keep your users top of mind to provide the most value and best experience possible.
