    Hi everyone,

Need some pointers as I am fairly new to Amazon Cloud Services – EC2. We are trying to create few Windows instances (reserved, if it matters) for disaster recovery. What would be the best way to create these instances on a single “private” network and create some sort of VPN connection from that private network to our HQ network? Also, some of these Windows instances will need to be accessible from internet, especially the web servers.

We are planning on running these instances only 1 hour a week for syncing the data between HQ and the private network (ex: domain controller). Any pointers are appreciated, thanks!

Note: I took a look at VPC – this is probably what I am looking for, but don’t really know where to start. If someone could give me a quick overview (the general steps I need to setup a vpc and instances would be great)
