Ocr Recognition

By chrisdlinney ·
Recently i have tried to scan some application forms into word with the intention of opening in word and being able to type directly into the document..i have found some free ocr editing programs that do this quite well, however the ocr software seems to struggle to recognise the place-holders (answer boxes)in the document..any ideas on which is the best ocr software..scanner is a lexmark x1270..even if it costs me..?

OCR is not going to help you.

You need to insert the checkboxes yourself. There is no character for a checkbox. Especially if you want it functional in Word, but still if you want it simply as a placeholder for a printed form.

Thanks for the response what i mean is not a check box, but a space to write your answer eg..address first line ect...the rectangular boxes don't appear in the document..but i have a feeling your answer will be along the same lines..;i sort of get the picture ...thanks anyway...
