Printers Disappear after Reboot

By dcunnea ·
HI. Every time I reboot my PC (XP), the printers disappear. When I check the Print Spooler, it has stopped and I have to restart it each time. When I restart it, the printers re-appear. The Print Spooler is set at Automatic.

Can anyone help?

have you added or removed any new printers lately? Sometimes driver issues will cause the print spooler to stop.

Printers Disappear after reboot - Server 2003 / XP Clients

by michestr In reply to Printers Disappear after ...

I have just experienced the same issue today. We are currently using a 2003 server to host our network based printers. After installing an HP LaserJet 1022n all of the printers have disaapeared on our XP clients. They are also receiveing a print spooler error on boot and when trying to add a printer you recieve the message that the print spooler service is not running.

We are in the process of trying to figure out what the heck happened now. I will update this task once I find a solution, but please feel tree to offer ideas if you have any. Thanks :-)
