Aliph released their latest Jawbone headset, the ICON, that builds on their Bluetooth voice technology with a software platform for customization and personalization. The ICON comes in six different personalities to fit your style. The MSRP is $30 less than previous models and packaging is 100% recyclable. The headset is comfortable for hours of use and sound quality is excellent.

CES 2010 takes place from 5 through 9 January in Las Vegas and we are wandering the show floor and checking out the latest in mobile gadgetry. Most items will eventually appear later this year for you to purchase.

The Nokia N900 is now available from various US retailers and after two full months of using a loaner device I just purchased my own. This latest Linux-based device has a new version of the Maemo OS and integrates a cellular radio. You will find some aspects of S60 in the N900, along with a rather unique user interface and extremely powerful Mozilla-based web browser. Apps are still early in development, but with the browser you can do most everything you need to do with dedicated apps.

One of the unique features that Barnes & Noble promised for the B&N nook was the retail store experiences. With the nook 1.1.0 update nook owners now have access to store specific content, including short ebooks and coupon offerings. The first coupon to appear is for a free cookie each time you show the barista your nook and the coupon ($1.95 priced cookie).

One of the key differentiations between the B&N nook and other ebook readers is the ability to lend books to your friends for a period of up to 14 days. The LendMe capability is in beta and I had the chance to test it out with my nook. Lending and receiving loaned books is simple and easy from your device.

The Barnes & Noble Nook is the newest electronic book reader on the market and takes things to the next level with both AT&T and WiFi connectivity, support for the largest number of ebooks available, capability to lend books, Google Android operating system powered and more. Let's take a look at the hardware, navigation, and ebook reading aspects of the device.

There hasn't been a lot of excitement in the Windows Mobile space for quite some time, but the HTC HD2 pushes the limits of the OS with a capacitive display, multi-touch support, Windows Mobile 6.5 improvements and more. The device's main distinguishing feature is the large 4.3 inch 800x480 pixel resolution display and slim form factor.

OtterBox is known for their protective case designs and they recently released a couple of products for the iPhone 3G and 3GS that offer protection with style. These two cases use the best of silicone with a touch plastic protective shell. Each case comes with a screen cover to protect the front of the iPhone while the case protects the sides and back.

I previously posted reviews of two Bible study applications I have used on other smartphone platforms that moved onto the iPhone, Laridian PocketBible and Olive Tree Bible Reader, primarily because they are the programs I was most familiar with over a number of years. One thing we have discovered with the launch of the iPhone and the App Store is that there are a ton of developers creating new and exciting applications just for this platform. The most compelling of these native iPhone programs pertaining to Bible reading and study that I found so far is Mantis Bible Study. I actually discovered this a few months ago when I was looking for a program and was pleased to see it was one of the only ones with note taking support. After adding back the two apps I used in the past, I reloaded Mantis Bible Studay and actually think it may be the best of all Bible applications on the iPhone platform.

Windows Mobile 6.5 was just recently announced and with that announcement came the launch of several devices running the latest operating system. The Samsung Intrepid is a touchscreen device with a forward facing QWERTY keyboard, similar to a BlackBerry device. The device supports Sprint's 3.5G EV-DO network, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and various services. A 3.2 megapixel camera is also included.
