Bio: Worked for UK NHS (financial). Got bored, figured out how to manipulate the (huge) computer system to generate financial reports (payroll forecasts, overtime forecasts yadayadayada)...these were VERY popular. Magically I found myself moved from finance dept to IT dept & learned basics of network admin, with Windows, SCO unix & Novell, mostly. Ditto client\\PC support. A bit of C coding (never liked that, won't ever do it again). Left UK, moved to southern hemisphere. Worked as network admin\\client support\\assist. technical manager in govt. organisation for a couple of years, left & joined an international manufacturing co. doing essentially the same things. Not quite as secure, better paid, more interesting. \ \ Manage around 250 - 300 internal client PCs across 15 national sites, 15 domain servers throughout the country, of which about 12 also run Lotus domino server, maybe 100 external private (i.e. not corporate) SSH clients logging into corporate AIX server, via linux server.
