The holiday season is approaching fast. In fact, it seems to approach faster every year. For those of you in the giving spirit around the office, it can be difficult to find that special gift for the person on the other side of the cubicle wall. It cannot be too expensive and it should reflect a certain amount of lightheartedness and fun. I mean, after all, gift giving in an office environment is really about generating smiles and feelings of goodwill with your co-workers. With that spirit in mind, TechRepublic has acquired several inexpensive yet tasteful and useful desktop toys for review. One of these fine gadgets or gizmos should appeal to even the most difficult to buy for in your office. Next on our gift list is the Wolf King Warrior, The Ultimate FPS Gaming Pad courtesy of KlearGear.com.
If looks good kill, you would get a few frags just for having this on your desk. But notice the size of the Wolf King when compared to a standard keyboard. It is quite large, especially if you compare it to my personal favorite gamepad, the Belkin Nostromo n52.
Granted I have small hands and fat fingers, but my colleagues with slimmer and longer digits agree with me --- the Wolf King is too big. The finger reach from the movement keys (WSAD) is just as long as it is on a standard keyboard. And because of its circular design, the keys are not in the same places as a standard keyboard, which takes some getting used to --- at least it did for me.
That is not to say that the Wolf King is not a fine gamepad, but it is not for me. I'll keep my Nostromo n52.
