Using Google Cloud SQL
Here is an Eclipse window showing how to connect to Google Cloud SQL. This allows developers to connect to a MySQL instance in the cloud.
Notice that there are no log-in credentials; Google uses a chain of trust between App Engine and Cloud SQL, rather than needing credentials in code.
