The official unofficial TechRepublic World of Warcraft guild, Technologia, recently did it's part to help the unfortunate by participating in Children's Week. An annual worldwide event.
Elkwinkarma and Lisettea each took charge of an orphaned blood elf for a day and gave her a tour of some of the more interesting sights found in that war-ravaged world. -
Sleepy Willy
Elkwinkarma chose Sleepy Willy -- a floating eyeball. Willy falls asleep from time to time.
-
Egbert
Lisettea chose Egbert -- he is still in his shell part way.
-
Egbert
Lisettea complains that Egbert moves around too much.
-
Caverns of Time
The orphan wanted to go the Caverns of Time. This is an area controlled by Dragons where time and space can be bent. It is possible to travel both forward and back in time.
-
Dragon greeting
The entrance is guarded by three dragons. The other two attack if you get too close, but this one will talk to you. Just be careful what you say.
-
Rips
Inside you can see evidence of of other areas and other times.
-
Deeper
-
Still deeper
-
And deeper still
-
At the bottom
Once you reach the bottom you find an enclave of time managers, guardians and of course a very large and wise dragon. She is in charge.
-
A closer look
-
Even closer
My orphan got a kick out of it
-
Nether Drakes
While not part of Children's Week, a new mount has been added to the game -- the Nether Drake. This super-fast flying mount is available after completing a series of quests.
-
A new mount
The Nether Drakes look pretty cool -- perhaps I should get one.
