The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) was established in 1987. Their challenge is to refresh heterogeneous campus network infrastructure for high availability, security, and energy efficiency. They chose Cisco to overcome this challenge. They have implemented standardized on Cisco catalyst 4500 E-Series switch platform with Cisco Universal Power Over Ethernet (Cisco UPOE) capabilities and Cisco TrustSec Security group tag eXchange Protocol (SXP) functionality. The results of implementing Cisco were achieved energy savings with low power utilization of network infrastructure, helped ensure high level of reliability and security while achieving low total cost of ownership and created quality foundation for future video and voice services.
