The Banco Nacional de Costa Rica is the largest bank in Costa Rica and Central America. Its network supports 170 offices and more than 400 ATMs across the country. Their challenges are they need to expand SAN network capacity and support virtualized environment, improve availability and simplify management of multiple SAN domains. They chose Cisco to overcome these challenges. They implemented Cisco MDS 9000 series multilayer directors, nexus series 2000, 5000, and 7000 switches, data center network management. The results of implementing the Cisco were increased SAN switching capacity from 1-2 Gbps to up to 10 Gbps, improved availability and performance of customer services and simplified management.
