University of Ulsan, turning to late 2000s, found out that it needed innovation not for the system but for data utilization. In universities, generally speaking, the portion of unstructured data exceeds that of structured data. Thus, they had to spend a lot of time and efforts in response to outside request of disclosure material. Against this backdrop, the University decided to carry out a data-utilization level integration via BI implementation, and in 2010 proceeded with the plan in full gear. The University designed its Business Intelligence (BI) system in various perspectives inclusive of statistical analysis, outcome data management and cost analysis to make it the basis of next-generation management support services.
