Cybage Mitigates Server Sprawl, Cuts IT Costs and Implements a Robust Disaster Recovery Strategy
Cybage challenge is to move to centralized strategy for storage and servers to mitigate server sprawl, reduce server provisioning time, optimize utilization of space in the datacenter, reduce power and cooling to reduce minimize operating expenses and implement a robust data protection and disaster recovery strategy. Cybage chose VMware to overcome these challenges. Cybage deployed a virtualized infrastructure leveraging VMware ESX running on IBM servers with NetApp FC SAN storage. The lab environment has been migrated to two IBM 3850 X5 series rack servers running VMware ESX that host 200+ virtual desktops each. The results of deploying VMware virtualized infrastructure were increased server/desktop consolidation ratio of 213:1, significant savings in Capital and Operating Expenditures and CPU Utilization improved from 20% to 80%.
