Danish Municipality Sets Trend for IP Energy Management

Faxe Kommune is a Danish municipality in the Zealand region, with 2918 employees and a network comprising approximately 8500 IP-connected devices. Faxe municipality is located half an hour drive south of the capital, Copenhagen. In 2012, to comply with the European Union 2012 Energy Efficiency Directive and to become more environmentally responsible, Faxe Kommune entered an agreement with 11 other municipalities to gradually reduce carbon dioxide consumption and emissions at least 20 percent over 2008 levels by the year 2020.
