Wholesaler Menzies Distribution needed to deliver first-call resolution to its 29,500 retail customers, but was restricted by the poor performance of aging hardware running an old operating system. Menzies Distribution considered Windows 7 initially, but with the support of Ricoh the distributor made the decision to deploy Windows 8.1 and replaced its PCs and servers and upgraded to Windows 8.1. With the improved performance, the company has significantly reduced call response times, better IT management and increased productivity.
