IBC Bank was founded in 1996 to meet the needs of small businesses in Laredo, Texas, it serving more than 89 communities throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Their challenges are vendors withdrawing support from legacy operating systems, leading to heavier IT management burden and additional storage needed to accommodate heavy-duty I/O work that a VDI environment puts on the infrastructure. They chose VMware to overcome these challenges. They implemented VMware Virtual SAN solution. The results of implementing the VMware were enabled the company to virtualize more than 90 percent of its servers, completely changed the economics of IBC's VDI solution, enabling the company to add storage capacity in small, manageable increments and established agnostic environment for faster, easier, less-expensive upgrades in the future.
