Kobo was looking for a platform that would serve as the central hub for data. The hub needed to integrate with their recommender system and provide an easy interface for BI analysts and data. Kobo turned to Hadoop to manage their analytics challenge. Kobo uses MapR to store and analyze customer data in several areas: analyzing clickstreams to understand and improve how customers interact with their website, analyzing usage patterns on their devices and apps and analyzing the text of books to understand and promote their catalog. The results of implementing MapR were operational efficiency and performance, more revenue opportunities and changing how their business operates.
