The Walnut Valley Unified School District in Southern California serves approximately 16,000 students and staff at 15 schools. Their challenges are to protect students from undesirable websites, comply with CIPA and more effective web filtering minimizes viruses and malware. They chose McAfee to overcome these challenges. They have implemented McAfee web gateway (formerly Webwasher). The results of implementing McAfee were prevents students from using encrypted traffic and anonymizers to circumvent the web filtering system, enables school to receive E-Rate funding, makes it easy to implement user-based web usage policies and to grant temporary or permanent exceptions and provides granular reporting and audit capabilities, including tracing user activity and trends.
