Spanish University Supports New Services with Network Upgrade

The University of Granada (UGR) is a public university located in the city of Granada (Spain). Their challenges are to support collaboration between researchers, teachers and students worldwide, support e-learning and access to online resources, including HD video resources and help ensure network security and stability. They chose Cisco to overcome these challenges. They have implemented Cisco Catalyst 6500 series Switches on campus, Cisco Nexus Switches in data centers and leveraged private high-capacity fiber network with future plans to support 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GE). The results of implementing Cisco were new services delivered to students and staff, increasing user satisfaction, integrated network solution simplifies and centralizes management and international excellence award provided funds for future network investments.
