The McAllen Independent School District (ISD) comprises 34 campuses with over 25,000 students, each of whom is issued an iPad by the district as part of its TLC framework, which supports anywhere/anytime learning as part of its mission. Their challenges are to extend web filtering to public networks, prevent attacks by unauthorized users and prepare for growth and future needs. They chose F5 Networks to overcome these challenges. They have implemented BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM), BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) and VIPRION. The results of implementing F5 Networks were identifies and redirects off-network devices to web filter, protects against volumetric DDoS attacks and provides a scalable vendor-agnostic platform.
