A European mobile provider serving more than 10 million subscribers on a range of mobile access technologies. Their challenge is to preserve the quality of experience for all users, including those using high-bandwidth streaming video applications, while reducing the enormous traffic spikes caused by the streaming. They chose Sandvine to overcome this challenge. Engineers used the Sandvine Network Demographics reporting interface to diagnose the cause of sudden traffic spikes on the network. The results of implementing Sandvine were assured of the maximum Quality of Experience (QoE) for the maximum amount of time. The mobile operator continued to deliver a high quality of experience for everyone on the network, while eliminating the traffic spikes that threatened their capacity planning models.
