Tucson Electric Power Speeds Data Access With NetApp Virtual Storage Tier
Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has provided safe, reliable power to business and residential customers for more than a century. They need to support exponential storage growth with a consolidated, multiprotocol storage environment that offers intelligent data caching and improved performance. TEP chose NetApp to overcome these challenges. They deployed NetApp FAS storage systems, gaining new efficiencies through virtualization and the NetApp Virtual Storage Tier. The results of deploying NetApp FAS storage systems drove increased performance through intelligent data caching, increased storage capacity by more than 10 times, without increasing headcount and saved approximately $7.3 million in hardware and labor costs due to new efficiencies.
