At that level, the video game industry will draw more revenue than the global movie ($100 billion) and North American sports industries ($75 billion) combined. In the United States, according to IBISWorld research, some 261,906 people work in the video game industry in 2020, with the number of employees growing at almost 5% each year for the previous five years. Clearly, IT professionals seeking fresh employment in 2021 should consider the video game industry a prime market for their services.
